Well, not exactly the Christmas window, after all it’s only April! but this version is the first for 2019.
This year my inspiration was a luxury ‘Winter Wonderland’ using white, gold and silver. I started with these amazing birch trees and gold birdcages, both statement pieces. I added beaded garland to the base of the bird cages which gives a really interesting long line to echo the birch trees. The white Christmas tree on the left is filled with white floral blooms and a hint of gold metallic in the shape of the Christmas flower, the poinsettia. The tree (far right) is a real tree sprayed in white. I’ve added some illumination pieces to the branches These features are surrounded by our life like animals some of which are animated. It’s amazing to see how their movement brings the space alive.
That’s only half the story. The second part of the window is themed in blue, white and silver. Taking centre stage is the throne. As always key pieces dictate what happens next so I went with the Winter Wonderland theme. The white spiral tree (far right) is quite a special piece, tricky to decorate, the spiral shape can easily disappear if over dressed. I’ve chosen the icicle lights to emphasise the spiral and splashes of blue to catch your eye as it rotates.
The use of beaded garland and the white birdcages echo the other side of our window and provides some continuity. Finally the unicorn is a great piece and brings a touch of fantasy to the scene
